Finally after a month of waiting, my Super Mario costume is now finished and ready to wear!
I decided to surprise my friends Lucky and Ivan with it right after our exams. I asked them to come over to my dorm to unwind with my 1980’s NES. Ivan didn’t want to play NES but Lucky was excited because I told her we were playing super mario, one of her favorite games.
Hahaha.. They laughed like crazy when they saw the surprise I had for them!

Hey! I know this is months after the original post but my fiance decided to be Mario for this upcoming halloween and we had trouble locating a costume so I decided to make one for him. I just finished the hat with the logo, and I even made a question block box from styrafoam and I have wire to stick through the hat so its on top. We had the same exact idea as you for the rest of the costume! What a coincidence, we even located the same picture you showed to go from!
Wow! You ROCK Martin! You have like, the best blog in the WORLD. Out of all Mario Cosplayers, yours is the BEST. One month of creating a costume has TOTALLY paid off! Good Job!

Kumusta! I’m glad I came across your blog becuase I’m having a hard time putting my mario costume together. Unfortunantly, I’m sort of on a time crunch( I need it by friday!) but I was just curious how you got your hat. I can’t find it anywhere and I’m assuming that you just made yours. Wow. This is the answer I was searching for! I’ve been trying to find ideas for a decent mario costume for a couple of months now…
It all started when I was at work and we were playing with hairnets, making fun of our boss who has a crazy ’stache!
When I taped up a wadded hair net to my face, a co-worker cried out: “OMG!!! Its MARIO!!!
I can even imitate his voice pretty well. It suprised a lot of my friends when I first nailed it.
I’m really glad to have stumbled upon this site!
